Staff Spotlight: Patricia Turini-Sylvester

Community Health Worker

Pronouns: she/her/hers

Introducing Patricia Turini-Sylvester, one of our dedicated Nashua Community Health Workers! From helping patients access preventive programs to her passion for community care, Patricia’s role is vital to making sure our patients feel supported every step of the way.

LHC: Tell us a little about yourself. Where did you grow up? How did you get here?

Patricia: I am from a big city in Sao Paulo State/Brazil called Campinas and moved to the state of Massachusetts in 2008. I moved to NH in 2017 and in 2020 started getting classes at SNHAEC for Medical and Community Interpretation which led me to Community Health Work in 2021 in Manchester and then in Nashua for Lamprey in 2023.

LHC: What do you like most about working at Lamprey Health Care?

Patricia: There are so many things I love about working here but certainly the mission of Lamprey is serving our community while addressing the social aspects of health in so many different ways with so much enthusiasm, love and commitment. My Role as a Community Health Worker here is connecting patients with programs offered by CDC and the State that covers preventive exams, and it is very rewarding .

LHC: Did you always want to work in healthcare? What would you do if you weren't doing this?

Patricia: I haven't planned to work in healthcare. If I wasn't here, I would probably be doing interpretation or something related with case management focused on resources.

LHC: What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?

Patricia: I like playing and spending time with people I love, especially my son either at home or outside like short hikes at Mine Falls Park, I enjoy also going to the Church and I love music, so it is almost always present at any free time.

LHC: What advice would you give to others to be healthy?

Patricia: I like to think Health is a word that involves Physical, Psychological and Emotional and feeling good in each of these aspects might improve our overall health. The basic well done as eating , sleeping and exercising well are important too.
