Director of Marketing and Development
Meet Danielle Tjalsma, our new Director of Communications & Marketing! She joined Lamprey in January and is leading our marketing, outreach, and development efforts. With a background in communications and organizational health, she’s passionate about sharing our story and helping us grow.
LHC: Tell us a little about yourself. Where did you grow up? How did you get here?
Danielle: I was born in Chicago Illinois, moved to Montreal when I was 7 years old, and remained in Canada until 2007, when I moved to Andover, MA with 3 kids. They are all on their own now and I have two “perfect” grandchildren!
LHC: What do you like most about working at Lamprey Health Care? What would you do if you weren’t doing this?
Danielle: When I read the Lamprey Health Care job description for Development and Marketing director, I realized it truly could have been my resume. I had been an independent consultant since I was a kid, but the LHC mission, culture and staff were so compelling I jumped at the chance to work with this team on a full-time basis. I have been in marketing, communications, and organizational health my entire career and have loved the creativity, the work and the challenge – I cannot imagine doing anything else!
LHC: What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?
Danielle: When I’m not working, I am either entertaining friends, with my kids and grandkids (preferably without their parents lol!), or on a tennis court playing competitive women’s and mixed doubles – that’s my happy place!
LHC: What advice would you give to others to be healthy?
Danielle: One of the best ways I know to be healthy is to choose joy, gratitude, and honesty every single day in all circumstances.
