LHC: Tell us a little about yourself. Where did you grow up? How did you get here?
Kaleigh: I have lived in this area my whole life, I grew up in Haverhill and Dracut, MA and live in southern NH now. I have spent time in a number of interesting places around the world but can't call anyplace other than New England home!
LHC: What do you like most about working at Lamprey Health Care?
Kaleigh: I love working in a place where I feel like I am making a difference in patients' lives literally on a daily basis. So many of our patients have had less than ideal interactions with the healthcare system or don't have the resources to take great care of their health, and I love working in a setting where we have real options to help people get the care they deserve. And it doesn’t hurt that we have a great team of people here who truly enjoy working together.
LHC: Did you always want to work in healthcare? What would you do if you weren't doing this?
Kaleigh: I didn't always want to work in healthcare, my bachelor's degree is actually in engineering! Now, if I wasn't working in healthcare I would love to work in interior design. My husband and I have renovated our 1850 farmhouse from top to bottom over the last 10 years, and I have loved the process!
LHC: What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?
Kaleigh: I love spending time with my kids, gardening, volunteering, and reading. I also love to travel and can't wait to hit the phase of life when I can start getting out and seeing new places again.
LHC: What advice would you give to others to be healthy?
Kaleigh: Prioritize your mental health. Eat and move in ways that make you feel mentally strong. Make sure you are getting restful sleep and find ways to manage stress. Even in the setting of chronic illness, maintaining good mental health and a positive outlook can do wonders for your quality of life.
