Beth shares her journey from Marine Biology to healthcare, her love for the organization’s family-centered mission, and her creative passions outside of work. Read on to discover more about Beth’s story and her contributions to Lamprey!

LHC: Tell us a little about yourself. Where did you grow up? How did you get here?

Beth: I was born in Marlboro MA but became a NH transplant like many others when I was a child and grew up in Nashua. Moved to Raymond when I started at Lamprey, and bought a house In Epping and started a family.

LHC: What do you like most about working at Lamprey Health Care?

Beth:  I have always admired the mission of Lamprey Health Care, but I think I have stayed all these years because I have always felt that Lamprey was more supportive of the family unit and understood that family comes first unlike the private sector. The staff is a family in itself as well.

LHC: Did you always want to work in healthcare? What would you do if you weren't doing this?

Beth: I originally went to school for Marine Biology so I have always been interested in the sciences, unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be but healthcare was a logical choice to settle in. I started as a cashier 32 years ago part time in Raymond and the job developed into strictly coding and billing as the office changed with the times.  Not sure where I would have ended up if we hadn’t made the move further north but at this point I would imagine this will be the job I retire from…eventually.

LHC: What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?

Beth: I have always been crafty and interested in the arts, drawing, painting etc. I started making hand stiched ornaments as gift tags back in the 80’s and have continued sewing them through the years but they have now become the gift. I have been running a Christmas Craft Fair in Epping since 2009, that takes up a lot of my free time. I also enjoy gardening as well and travelling and discovering new breweries with my husband.

LHC: What advice would you give to others to be healthy?

Beth: Enjoy your life, your mental health is just as important as your physical health! We all know what we should be doing to stay healthy especially working in the healthcare industry, try to do the best you can!
