Chief Operating Officer
Pronouns: she/her/hers
Meet Terri Burdick, our Chief Operating Officer and this month's featured staff member! Terri has been with Lamprey Health Care for over five years, where she plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations and ensuring that our mission to provide high-quality, accessible health care is fulfilled. Terri's dedication to our mission, paired with her love for new adventures, makes her an invaluable leader at Lamprey Health Care!
LHC: Tell us a little about yourself. Where did you grow up? How did you get here?
Terri: I was born and raised in Southern Maine. Although I traveled a bit and lived in a few other states in the USA, I have settled again in Maine.
LHC: What do you like most about working at Lamprey Health Care?
Terri: The mission and the staff.
LHC: Did you always want to work in healthcare? What would you do if you weren't doing this?
Terri: I never imagined myself in healthcare, but I knew I wanted to stay in nonprofit work. Many years ago (more than I care to admit), I was the director of some community-run before and after-school programs. From there, I went back to school and landed in the Billing and PSR departments at a community health center. This was a job I felt I could do while continuing my education. It didn’t take long before I realized I loved the work and everything community health stood for. I stayed for many years, worked my way up to the Director of Operations, and eventually came to Lamprey Health Care. I have been with Lamprey for just over 5 ½ years, and I love this organization. It has been a great fit for me.If I wasn’t here, what would I be doing? I think I would be retired and traveling all over the country.
LHC: What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?
Terri: My favorite thing to do is to try new adventures. This could be traveling or camping someplace new, trying a new sport like pickleball or a road race, trying my hand at some art, or even just reading a new book. I also love to hang out with my family and friends.
LHC: What advice would you give to others to be healthy?
Terri:The same thing we always hear: eat well, exercise, balance your work with life, and be sure to keep learning and trying new things.
